Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at tailoredforyouaesthetics@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Think of it this way: Botox (Anti-wrinkle injections) relaxes the muscles that cause "expression lines" (like crow's feet or forehead lines). Dermal Fillers add volume to areas that have thinned or sagged (like lips, cheeks, or nasolabial folds

Yes, when performed by a qualified professional. At Tailored For You Aesthetics, we use only premium, MHRA-approved products. During your consultation, we’ll review your medical history to ensure the treatment is perfectly safe for you.

We prioritise your comfort. For Fillers, we use a high-strength topical numbing cream, and the fillers themselves contain a local anaesthetic. For Anti-wrinkle injections, the needle is so fine that most clients describe it as a tiny "pinch" that is over in seconds.

Not at Tailored For You. Our philosophy is "natural and subtle." We aim to refresh your appearance so you look like a well-rested version of yourself, not like a different person. We can always add more at a top-up, but we prefer a conservative start.

Most treatments take between 30 and 45 minutes, which includes a thorough consultation and aftercare discussion.

• Anti-wrinkle (Botox): Usually 3–4 months, depending on your metabolism.
• Dermal Fillers: Usually 6–12 months (Lips often sit around the 6-9 month mark).

You can return to most normal activities immediately! However, for fillers, you may experience some swelling or minor bruising for 24–48 hours. We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise or heat (saunas/sunbeds) for 24 hours after treatment.

Anti-wrinkle injections take 4–14 days to fully "kick in." Dermal Fillers are visible immediately, though the "final" look settles after about 2 weeks once any minor swelling has gone down.

Which treatment is right for me: Polynucleotides or Profhilo?

It depends on your skin goals!

  • Choose Profhilo if your main concern is dullness, dehydration, or a loss of overall firmness. It acts like a high-performance "internal moisturizer" to give you a dewier, more lifted look.
  • Choose Polynucleotides if you want to target specific damage, such as dark under-eye circles, fine lines around the mouth, or acne scarring. It focuses on deep cellular repair and "resetting" aged skin.

Can I have both treatments together?

Yes! In fact, many of our clients choose to combine them for the ultimate skin transformation. While Profhilo provides the "canvas" of hydration and glow, Polynucleotides act as the "detail work" to repair specific signs of aging. We call this the Bio-Regeneration Duo.

How many sessions will I need?

  • Profhilo: Usually involves 2 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart.
  • Polynucleotides: We typically recommend a course of 3 sessions, spaced 2–3 weeks apart, for the best regenerative results.

Is there any downtime?

Both treatments are minimally invasive.

  • With Profhilo, you may see small "bee-sting" bumps at the 5 injection points, which typically subside within 24 hours as the product spreads.
  • With Polynucleotides, there may be slight swelling or redness at the injection site for 24–48 hours, especially in the delicate under-eye area.

When will I see the results?

  • Profhilo: You'll often feel an improvement in skin "bounce" and hydration within a week, with the full glow appearing after the second session.
  • Polynucleotides: Because this treatment relies on your body growing new collagen, results appear gradually. You will start to see a significant improvement in skin texture and tone after about 3–4 weeks.

Dermaplaning FAQ

Q: Is it painful? A: Not at all. Most clients find the sensation quite relaxing, similar to a gentle "brushing" or "scraping" across the skin. There is no pulling or discomfort involved.

Q: Will it make my hair grow back thicker or darker? A: This is a myth. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair (peach fuzz), which is physiologically different from the thick terminal hair on your head. It will grow back with the exact same texture and color as before.

Q: How often should I have it done? A: We recommend a treatment every 4–6 weeks to maintain a smooth surface and remove the dead skin cells that accumulate during your natural skin cycle.

Chemical Peels FAQ

Q: Will my skin actually "peel" off in sheets? A: Not necessarily. "Peeling" is a side effect, not the goal. Depending on the strength of the peel, you may experience anything from invisible microscopic shedding to light flaking. Your skin is still being renewed even if you don't see visible peeling.

Q: How do I choose the right peel for me? A: You don't have to! During your consultation, we analyze your skin concerns—whether it's acne, aging, or pigmentation—and select a bespoke acid blend that is safe and effective for your specific skin type.

Q: Can I go out in the sun after a peel? A: Your skin will be highly photosensitive. You must avoid direct sun exposure for at least 1–2 weeks and wear a high-factor SPF 50 daily to prevent post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Microneedling FAQ

Q: Does it hurt? A: We apply a topical numbing cream 20–30 minutes before the procedure, making the treatment very tolerable. Most clients describe it as a light "vibrating" or "scratchy" sensation rather than pain.

Q: How many sessions will I need? A: While you will see a "glow" after one session, we typically recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments (spaced 4–6 weeks apart) for significant improvements in scarring, deep wrinkles, or skin laxity.

Q: What is the downtime? A: You will experience redness similar to a moderate sunburn for 24–48 hours. Most clients find their skin returns to a normal tone by day 3. You should avoid makeup for at least 24 hours.

General Aesthetic FAQs

Q: Can I have all three treatments at once? A: We offer a specialized "Ultimate Transformation" package that combines these. However, they must be performed in a specific order (Dermaplaning first to prep the canvas) to ensure the skin isn't over-stressed.

Q: Are these treatments safe during pregnancy? A: Dermaplaning is 100% safe and a great alternative to chemicals. However, we generally advise against Chemical Peels and Microneedling during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to hormonal changes and the use of active ingredients/numbing creams.
